01Why use Nomad instead of Excel or Notion?

Spreadsheets require manual data entry and break easily. Nomad automates the busywork by parsing emails, extracting details from job postings, drafting documents, and syncing interviews directly to your calendar. You get a focused Kanban board built specifically for careers in finance, consulting, startups, and tech - not generic rows.

02How does the email sync and security work?

When you link your Gmail or IMAP mailbox, IMAP passwords are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored, and Google tokens can be revoked at any time. Nomad only scans and classifies career-related threads (interviews, offers, rejections) and ignores unrelated personal messages.

03Is my data sent to AI models or used for training?

Nomad parses job postings and emails with Google's Gemini API. Under Google's API terms, prompts sent through the API are not used to train their models, so your resumes, emails, and notes stay out of public training data. Only the text needed for a given parse is sent, nothing more.

04How does Nomad find new openings?

Nomad keeps a curated list of target firms across finance, consulting, and tech, and scans each firm's own career page every day, flagging new openings as they appear. Because it renders the page directly instead of reading a shared feed, it reaches the boutiques and bespoke sites that don't run a standard job portal - not just the big ATS platforms. You can also paste any job URL - Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Personio, Workday, or a firm's own site - and it extracts the role, company, and requirements for you.

05Can I export my data?

Yes. Nomad is built on a local-first philosophy. You can download a full backup of your applications, logs, and files via the settings page at any time. Your data is yours, with zero lock-in.
